Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) Service
What is safety assessment report?
Who is a “qualified safety assessor”?
According to the new cosmetic regulation (EC) No 1223/2209, “In order to demonstrate that a cosmetic product complies with Article 3, the responsible person shall, prior to placing a cosmetic product on the market, ensure that the cosmetic product has undergone a safety assessment on the basis of the relevant information.”
The safety assessment will always be carried out by a qualified person.
The safety evaluation of the finished product is based upon the toxicological profile of the substance, its chemical structure and its exposure level.
According to article 10 (2) of Regulation (EC) n° 1223/2009, the safety assessor should be “[…] a person in possession of a diploma or other evidence of formal qualifications awarded on completion of a university course of theoretical and practical study in pharmacy, toxicology, medicine or a similar discipline or a course recognized as equivalent by a Member State”. Our safety assessor is a PhrmD (Pharmacist), and has a PhD in Cosmetic Science backed by a wealth of experience in formulation, skin penetration and toxicological research studies. She is also a Chartered Biologist (approved by UK authorities to provide safety assessment reports for cosmetic products). There are many different versions of safety assessment reports on the market, but ours is based fully on EU guidelines (2013/674/EU). Our pledge: we won’t compromise on the safety assessment report quality, and we will always provide good value.
